Cadbury sponsors New Zealand Olympic Team

Cadbury New Zealand today announced it has become the official treat provider of the New Zealand Olympic Teams for Vancouver 2010 and London 2012.

This partnership will also provide financial support for our Olympic Teams and enable the New Zealand Olympic Committee to provide athletes with the resources they need at Games time to excel.

Cadbury New Zealand Managing Director, Matthew Oldham, said Cadbury is incredibly excited and proud to be a Partner of the New Zealand Team for the upcoming Winter and Summer Olympic Games.

“The Olympic Games are, without question, the world’s greatest event, and we are delighted that our sponsorship will contribute towards helping our New Zealand athletes achieve their dreams and hopefully deliver the most successful Olympic campaigns New Zealand has ever seen,” he said.

New Zealand Olympic Committee Secretary General Barry Maister welcomes the new partnership with Cadbury New Zealand. “Cadbury has been making chocolate in New Zealand since the days of Jack Lovelock in the 1930s. We’re delighted Cadbury New Zealand will support our Olympic teams to Vancouver and London enabling us to help our athletes make New Zealand proud.”

Cadbury’s sponsorship for Vancouver and London builds on the company’s financial and volunteer support for the Australian Olympic Committee.

Cadbury is developing a sponsorship that will touch every one of the millions of Kiwis who come in contact with Cadbury every day – consumers, customers, colleagues and the community.

“It is our hope that through Cadbury, many more people will be engaged in the spirit and values of the Olympic Games, inspired to get out and participate in sport themselves, and cheer our magnificent New Zealand Olympic Team home to glory and make Vancouver 2010 and London 2012, the most successful Olympic Games ever for New Zealand. “ Mr Oldham said.
