Boo! These yummy Halloween cakes decorated with spiders are welcomed by everyone! Try this spooky chocolate cake recipe for your Halloween party.
Method
1. SIFT together the flour and cocoa. Place in a large bowl; add the butter, sugar, vanilla, eggs and water and mix to combine. Spoon the mixture into 12 x 1/3 cup capacity paper lined muffins pans.
2. BAKE in a moderate oven 180°C for 20 minutes or until cooked when tested. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack. Cool.
3. PLACE the icing sugar mixture in a bowl and stir in the butter and enough water to make a spreadable icing. Colour with food colouring then spread over the cakes. Decorate with strips of snake to resemble spider legs then top with an Oreo. Cut eyes from the remaining snakes and position on top. Store in an airtight container until required.
